Facebook has enabled the end-to-end encryption feature of 900 million Messenger users. This means that no one will be able to monitor the conversations of Messenger users in the meantime. However, this new feature will not be usable until the users themselves Do not enable the Secret Conversations feature for chat. In addition, both parties will need to install the latest version of Messenger to use this feature.
This feature will not work in group chat.
Secret Conversations can only be accessed from the device from which it was started. Encrypted chats also do not support GIF and video, but photos and stickers can be used.
To enable this feature, start a new chat and then tap on Secret or toggle the switch in the top right corner before selecting the contact number. After that the menu bar will turn black. You can then start an encrypted chat by selecting any friend.
For existing chat, users can enable Secret Conversation by tapping another user’s name or the i button at the top of the screen.
